Experienced leadership ushers in exciting era for North Carolina technology company

RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 19, 2016) – NeoNova and its parent company, the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC), today announced that NeoNova’s Chief Operating Officer Jason McGinnis has been promoted to president of the company.

jmcginnis2_nnsMcGinnis assumes leadership of the company from Ray Carey, who served as CEO since 2010. Prior to becoming CEO, Carey led the venture investment into NeoNova while at Azure Capital in 2008 and served on NeoNova’s Board of Directors.

Under Carey, NeoNova has seen tremendous growth and success. The company currently works with more than 200 broadband providers in 43 different states, serving more than 1 million subscribers in mostly rural areas of the country. Carey was instrumental in relocating the company’s headquarters from Morrisville, N.C., to Raleigh in 2013 as well as driving the acquisition by NRTC later that year. During his tenure, NeoNova was listed as a Top 100 Company by Talkin’ Cloud and brokered strategic partnerships with some of the industry’s top firms, including Microsoft and Google, to bring leading-edge networking technologies and cloud services to NeoNova customers.

“It’s never easy to lose someone of Ray Carey’s caliber, but we were fortunate to have another leader of exceptional ability and vision within NeoNova,” said NRTC Chief Executive Officer Tim Bryan. “We are extremely confident that Jason McGinnis will excel in his new role as President, building upon NeoNova’s strong tradition of innovation and success.”

“Ray has been a visionary for this company and for our industry as a whole,” added McGinnis. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors, and I’m excited to build upon our success and lead NeoNova forward in the years ahead.”

Jason McGinnis has been with NeoNova since 2008 and is a key contributor to the ongoing strength and growth of the company. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, he has provided leadership for end-customer and ISP-facing operations as well as product and software development. His focus on customer success and satisfaction has ensured all NeoNova products and services achieve the highest level of performance, security, reliability, and excellence every day.

Prior to working at NeoNova, McGinnis worked for Perimeter eSecurity as Vice President of Security Operations preceded by operations roles at IBM, American Express, and Wal-Mart. He holds a BS in Business Management from Nova Southeastern University and a MS in Management Information Systems from Florida International University.
